I got the coolest frickin' thing at Wally World last night....   It's a venus fly trap.  [info]wakefield & I were just bumming around when we came upon a display of them.  And at first we're thinking yeah right, but we decided we had to hunt down a bug and test them out.  So the new game "find a bug" was invented and we were really bad at playing it for about 15 min.  Then we found a fly in the lotion aisle.  So we quickly ran back to the VFTs and tried to feed one.  Nothing.  Then, I spotted a healthier looking one and we fanagled the fly into the second container.  I'm holding this plant and I remarked that if this works, I'm gonna buy it.  Finally the fly goes into one of the mouths and then...   CHOMP!  We both let out a little eek.  I started feeding that little bugger everything I could find.  Jamie thinks the plant is evil and is slightly afraid of it.  Last night he's like, "I better not come over here and that thing is like twice as big."  Today I'm gonna transplant Rick James Jr. into a bigger pot with rich soil.  I'm gonna grow me a new friend.

C.O.O.L.! Maybe Mark can catch and feed it the icky centipede-things too. Rick James Jr? Clever! I'll have to come over and visit soon. How's your weekend looking, esp. Sunday?

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday look good... After about 8:30 or 9. Otherwise, nothing going next week yet...

We need one of those for the giant Wisconsin flies from hell. We'll name it chomper, and feed it italian sausage when there aren't any flies to go around.

Can't feed it meat. The fat content will kill the plant. You can buy them at wal-mart for 5 bucks. I'm considering making this a new hobby.
